Woodwinds
The most diverse collection of instruments in the orchestra are the woodwinds. Each is so completely different in character and sound. Really the main thing they have in common is that they use an air column instead of the string players bow. At times quirky, somber, dreamy, or chatty -- woodwinds are as much like singing animals as they can be like a fantasy-like human voice. Bring on the woodwinds!
