The Austrian composer Alban Berg, one of our 12 tone heroes, with his extremely dramatic and glorious music, we love, love him! His greatest works, including the violin concerto, were written in an extremely oppressive and dangerous time. The not quite complete Lulu, which he never lived to see, stands alongside Wozzeck as two of the greatest works of the operatic repertoire.
